Themes this summer will include basics and traveling steps (L1/2), upper body and lower body drills (Drills and Conditioning) and and oriental intro choreo to 'Baed Anak' (L3/4)
So.. where to start.. first of all, I got married!! :) The wedding was beautiful and more than we could have wished for, but our honeymoon is still a few months away ;) Piccies will follow soon, in the mean time there will be more dancing todo!
Preparations are almost done for the second edition of our MK Festival next weekend, so only a few more days!! We are looking forward to some fabulous workshops from guest teachers Sophia Chariarse of Germany and Razia from USA, as well as workshops on Sunday from both Milka and me and a smashing hafla with many guest stars on Saturday, so if you haven't reserved your hafla and/or workshops ticket be quick, Enrollments are still possible!
After that I will be finalising the new homepage (still www.khalida.biz, but with a brand new design) including.. a brand new web shop :) Woohoo! The DVD preparations for Shimmies with Khalida and Isis Wings with Khalida are coming along nicely, so with a bit of luck we should have a preliminary release date for this summer soon. Check out our next Newsletter for a sneak preview of the DVD covers, can't wait to share them with you!
And looking ahead for a bit, I am super happy and proud to be hosting 2 workshops in November with the fabulous Zafirah of Canada here at our studio in Würselen! She will be teaching Voi (veil poi), one of her absolute specialties and ABI:(Anti Blocage in Improvisation) with tips and tricks for helping with improvisation and freestyle dancing for all levels. Both workshops will be held on Thursday 17th of November, and you can start enrolling for them by email righ now :) So hope to see you all there soon!
And last but not least, a big big thank you to the lovely Chadia of Belgium, who hosted me for a fab workshop last week in Zonh.. err, Zutendaal, BE :). It was my very last teaching night as a 'bachelorette' so we really had a party! A hug hug to all the students who made it such a fun night. <3 you all!
